Do I have to wear a mask at Brevard Zoo?
MASK POLICY The Zoo is primarily an outdoor experience, and masks are not required. However, we strongly recommend all guests bring a mask to wear in indoor areas (such as restrooms, administration and our retail store) and, if unvaccinated, in outdoor areas when social distancing is not possible.

Does Brevard Zoo have elephants?
Brevard Zoo won’t be getting any of the elephants, though. They lack the facilities and the funding. But the center will be a place where zoo staff from throughout North America can get training in proper care and medical treatment for elephants and how to handle them in captivity.

The Zoo is involved in efforts to restore native oysters and mangroves in the Indian River Lagoon to ensure cleaner water and stable shorelines. The Sea Turtle Healing Center opened in early 2014, and it is the only sea turtle rehabilitation center in Brevard County.
How long is lagoon quest at Brevard Zoo?
As part of the “Lagoon Quest” program, every fourth grader in Brevard Public Schools is brought to the Lagoon for two full days of hands-on exploration and learning. You can buy your tickets on line and the hours are 930 to 5. Good for handicap people as well.
