Who is responsible for Openreach master socket?

Openreach are responsible for everything up to the master socket. That includes the master socket itself, but the removeable faceplate seems open to debate. However, if the line is damaged within the boundary of the property, then Openreach may charge you to fix it.

What is Openreach MK2?

Can I move my phone master socket?

If you do need to move a phone socket, then simply wire one to your master socket, even if it’s a case of it being a few inches away. It’s designed to have extensions attached to it, and it’s not hard to attach them, It can be a bit fiddly for the unfamiliar.

Can I change a BT master socket?

Its not illegal, just against the terms of service. You can rip the socket out, or replace it with a non standard one. If you ever get a fault with it, they may charge if the socket is the cause of the problem.

The microfilter does’nt work, unplug the microfilter and plug in just the black phone cable doesn’t work, remove screws and plug phone black cable into the test socking inside and phone works..
